Hocus Pocus, Abracadabra and Expecto Patronum!
Welcome to our first archetype, the Magician.
This archetype is the one that represents the gumption brand the most, since it is about transformation, initiation through self-knowledge and rebirth.
This includes anything that helps us connect to something bigger than us.
Science, God, The Divine, Mother Earth, and psychedelic medicine all bring out the Magus in us. The Magus lives in the cave, perfects her spells and creates something from nothing.
Omar will start the short story series next Sunday with our character going through this archetype, but here are a few resources that are quite fascinating and have inspired his research.
⚠️ Some of these resources may not sit well with you.
♻️ Happy transformation, even if turbulent.

Novel:
Mumbo Jumbo by Ishmael Reed. This is an excellent novel about a dancing pandemic that starts spreading from New Orleans and is intertwined with the HooDoo practices and rituals. This novel itself is an initiation and tackles the break between science and magic.
Non Fiction:
The Magus and the Analyst (Very tough read, but short and provides a deep dive into what this archetype is about. Only read this if you have already read King Warrior Magician Lover)
Michael Pollan - How To Change Your Mind What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence.
The title says it all.
