Good Sunday! It is indeed a sunny day in San Francisco today after a long and stormy stretch of 4 months.
After a few weeks of travel in Guatemala and taking time to reflect, I've now returned to the city.
I'm really excited to bring you my new gumption programming this month.
Look out for the following in the next coming weeks:
This Wednesday: Episode 15 of the Gumpcast: Race and Identity with an old friend from highschool, who now runs the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg that educates students who are as old as we were when we first met.
We reflect on the shittier things we told each other as kids and how these innocent games shaped our inner world. Well dissect how identity and race has shaped his experiences as a Sudanese growing up in Oman and Egypt. We also delve into his current role in South Africa and how his identity seemed to shift when he studied at Harvard.
Next few Sundays: I've been working on essays based on how you all answered the question “What keeps you going?” Last week. Thank you for all the emails, comments and chats 🙏🏽 You've filled up my Gumption tank! I've been a writing machine since then.
I'll address some of my favorite answers from you so far. Upcoming Musings about
How to Get Better at Anything
Why reading fiction will help you grow.
How facing your pain gives you antifragility.
Power of prayers in conflicts and relationships.
Coming Soon: I'll also be announcing a coaching program that I've been running to support professionals who are ready to find their gumption and maintain a well balanced healthy life with ambition.
See you this Wednesday with Ep 15 and my incredible guest Hatim El Tayeb!
