In my exploration of Magic to write the Part I of the Archetype short stories, I have stumbled upon the “psycho-magical” universe of Alejandro Jodorowsky. He has filmed his first two movies in Mexico where I currently live so I have found him very relevant these days.

I watched the Holy Mountain recently, and Holy Shit! What a strange, unsettling and deeply moving picture that was. There is a lot to say about him, his imagery and symbolism.
Fun fact #1 for fellow Egyptians: Omar El Sherif stars in one of his later movies in 1999.
Fun fact #2 for fellow Dune lovers: He almost did the first Dune version but it never happened.
Fun fact #3 he is 90 years old, still doing movies, and fully cognitive, so love or hate him, there is something admirable about how has lived his life.
I am very excited for our fictional character to go through his archetypal King in a few days. Can’t wait to see what Paul did with that.
Novel and Gumption Updates
The book draft is done! Been keeping a distance from it, and will start revising in May.
Looking forward to bringing you the actual Lamu Diaries posts and remaining videos, after we are done with the archetypes series. More on that later.
