The Prologue finds our protagonist in the future, and he seems to have some magical powers of human ( & animal) connection which allows him to deal with a potentially fatal confrontation in a new way. It is very loud in his mind, but somehow he pulls a trick to reign in ‘his kingdom’ and gain control.

The bigger theme here is this: The bull is inside of us all, and by fighting it we get locked in a bloody conflict, whereas by accepting it and relating to it, we can find a way out. It is not easy, and that is going to be Maskat’s journey throughout the story.
