Fellow fiction lovers, what are your favorite novels that you have ready between 2020 and today? List them in the comments!
I proudly present you with mine:
1- Kafka by the shore by Haruki Murakami
Delightful read that will take everything you know about how the world works and throw it out of the window.
2- Trust by Hernan Diaz
A thriller about financial meltdowns and fortunes in early 20th century New York. It takes you deeply into the inner world and delerium of the smart rich and saavy. Peels like an onion.
3- The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen
I never thought I would be open to learning so much about the Vietnam war and Communism. The climax is a psychological thriller that touched me deeply.
4- Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet
Action packed and makes me reflect honestly about ambition, where it comes from, and what we are capable of when we are righteous. Midevil times were never so thrilling.
5- Clandestine in Chile by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Short, Hilarious and so informative about a very strange time in Chile. The opposite of 100 years of solitude. The main character is so obnoxious, it hurts from how true it reads.
Have you read any of those? Let me know how you found them in the comments.
I love Murakami! And Trust was such a good read! Will read the rest :)
I also recommend:
Parable of the Sower- Octavia Butler
Pachinko- Min Jin Lee
The Power- Naomi Alderman
Shantaram- Gregory David Roberts
Klara and the Sun- Kazuo Ishiguro
And if you haven’t read 1Q84 for Murakami, you really should!
